Chambered in 380 ACP
Pico – The Most Concealable .380 for Personal Defense and Home Protection
At only 18mm wide, the Pico is the thinnest .380 semiauto handgun on the market, making it a best in class for concealed carry and home defense.
Besides being light, small, and concealable, it offers easy to use, adjustable sights, an ultra-reliable low-recoil mechanism, and a tough, durable finish that–with proper care–will give you a virtual lifetime of service.
It is easy to initially overlook the tiny Pico but don’t. Instead, understand that the Pico is all about trade-offs. Beretta engineers took up the challenge of making the absolute smallest, thinnest pistol possible, which is still reliable and in an effective caliber. The Pico was the result of that effort and it meets all criteria. It was never intended to be the pistol you take to the range for an afternoon, it was designed to be the pistol that you have with you.
At only 18mm wide and 11.5 ounces, the Pico is the thinnest, lightest .380 semiauto handgun on the market, easily making it a “Best in Class” for concealed carry. Appreciating the Pico means understanding the fact that trade-offs had to be made in order to get this pistol down to a size where there’s simply no excuse not to carry it. Super thin, ultra concealable, and easy to configure, the Beretta Pico sets a new standard for the micro compact carry pistol. The Pico is the thinnest .380 auto made by one millimeter. The Pico’s snag-free slide and frame is a true 18 mm at the widest point.
The grip frame, sights, and caliber are all simple to modify. (It can go from a .380 to a .32ACP by changing the barrel.) Extremely soft shooting with a double action trigger, the Pico is easy to control with its smooth, tip-to-parallel, straight-line action. The removable, serialized sub-chassis and modular frame feature simple disassembly for easy cleaning and customizing. The dovetail quick-change sights can be adjusted or replaced by the user. Light, durable, and easy to draw from concealment, the Pico brings all the reliability and quality of a Beretta to bear on its standing as the leader of a new generation of concealed carry firearms Specifications: Weight: 11.5 oz. # of Magazines: 2 Overall Length: 5.1″
Comfortable to Conceal and Carry
Weighing only 11.5oz unloaded, this double-action-only (DAO) pistol is comfortable and unobtrusive to carry, no matter your preferred model. The Pico’s flat profile and snag-free lines make it perfect in a pocket holster, while its smooth sides and controls also make it ideal for inside-the-waistband carry–coupled with its extra-durable stainless-steel/polymer construction that is highly sweat-resistant. It will literally disappear even in a small purse, while thanks to its flowing design it will always be easy to draw from concealment when every second counts.
In English, a “pico” is a mathematical term for “one-trillionth.” In other words, something very, very small. It is hardly surprising that Beretta chose this name for its new pocket pistol. Despite the Pico’s extremely diminutive size, it is no mouse gun and is chambered for the .380 ACP cartridge. It is also loaded with extra features one would not expect to find in so small a package.
This double-action-only (DAO), hammer-fired pistol offers a six-round magazine and a lightweight polymer frame. At less than 11.5 ounces, it is among the lightest pocket pistols you can buy. With an overall width of 0.72 inches, it is the thinnest pocket pistol available, and in-the-pocket width counts for a lot in terms of both comfort and concealability.
Beretta put a lot of thought into the gun’s design, and it features adjustable and easily changeable three-dot sights (night sights are also an option), a functional slide release/lock, and an ambidextrous magazine release. Most notable, however, is the modular design of the pistol, which allows the user to easily disassemble it and swap out barrels to convert the gun from a .380 to a .32 if so desired.
The serialized chassis allows the user to remove the polymer frame and swap it out for one with a different color, one with an integral laser unit, or an integral tactical light. The fit and finish on the samples I handled were excellent, and the gun has a smooth snag-free design so that it can be easily drawn from pants or coat pockets.
The crisp trigger features a 10-pound pull. While my test model featured a stainless trigger, current Picos have black triggers. The barrel mechanism has a minimal tilt design to improve reliability and help reduce recoil. This system allows defensive +P hollow-point ammunition to feed more reliably. When the action is pulled back, the tilt in the barrel is, in fact, barely noticeable.
The Pico also stands out in that it ships in a carry case with two magazines, one of which has a finger grip extension for easier shooting and improved hold. All of this plus the Beretta name and reputation for quality is available at a very reasonable cost.
Soft-recoiling and Absolutely Reliable
The Pico is soft-recoiling and makes target recovery lightning-quick after every shot, thanks to its minimal barrel tilt. This feature also makes feeding utterly reliable, even with more open hollowpoint designs or the hotter .380 commercial loads. This means that when you need it for concealed carry or home protection, the Pico will always deliver the performance you expect of a Beretta.
Easy to Disassemble and Customize, Loaded with Features, Made in the USA
Like its slightly bigger brother the Nano, the Pico is engineered to be easy and intuitive to take apart and reassemble. Its heart is a serialized modular chassis, meaning that the frame can be easily swapped to accommodate the user’s preferences. Simple to install, LaserMax Integrated Red Laser Grip Housing provides a perfect complement to the Pico pistol platform. Shipped with a storage case and two 6+1 stainless steel magazines (one flush, one with grip extension), the Pico features adjustable, quick-change sights with no gunsmithing required. It also offers an ambidextrous magazine release, as well as a super-low-profile slide-release lever to keep the slide open when desired. The Pico is made in the USA and brings all the reliability and quality of Beretta as the leader of a new generation of concealed-carry firearms.
